Design establishment, Coco Republic was recently commissioned to design the interior furnishings of famous tranquil retreat The Lakehouse in Daylesford, Victoria. A collaboration, I believe, of two remarkable businesses sharing a mutual synergy. The result is an amazingly earthy, sexy and serene interior where texture, a neutral colour palette and tribal-esque decor are key.
Coco Republic Interior Design department noted the following on their installation: "The Lakehouse set within Daylesford, Victoria and known as Australia’s spa capital, is a tranquil retreat that has a well deserved status as a hotel spa resort with a benchmark for excellence. Coco Republic Interior Design was commissioned to design the interior furnishings for the exclusive retreat country house. A spacious lounge area features a beautiful open fireplace and plush upholstered lounges whilst outside is your own private sunken hot tub and day bed. The scheme consisted of a luxe four poster wrought iron king bed, leather armchairs and soft furnishings in beige, navy, and neutrals as well as locally sourced Merino Wool throws and a luxurious ensuite with deep ceramic bath."

A little bit about the retreat: "Lakehouse lies on the shores of beautiful Lake Daylesford. Walking tracks lead from the property, around the lake and into the Wombat State Forest, complete with local fauna and the abundant health creating mineral springs the area is renowned for. The nearest one bubbles out right on Lake House's doorstep.

Exploring the property is in itself an adventure. Guests may like to have a hit of tennis followed by tea and refreshments in the tennis pavilion, a glass of wine by the open fire or a game of billiards in the lounge. Given the opportunity to explore the gardens you will come upon the Kitchen Garden planted with edible shoots and flowers, a myriad of sculptures and artwork from many of the region's top artists, extensive outdoor terraces overlooking the lake shore and established country gardens with everything from koala-loved stringy barks to lilac, Daphne, quince, plum and apple trees.
