YES ~ you do need to live considerably close to the water to pull it off. Focus on neutral colours with injections of pale blues or corals. Stripes always work well in a beach theme paying homage to it's nautical brother. Wooden furniture dark or light helps ties the theme together. White and glass accessories are a must.
